The Advantages to Trading in Your Vehicle

Trading in your current vehicle can help to lower your payments or make it possible to upgrade to a nicer vehicle that you might have thought. Here are some points to consider.

Advantages

  • You are not responsible for finding a private buyer, inspections, or scheduling test drives.
  • You are not put in any situations where you may be alone with a stranger during a test drive or transaction.
  • We take care of all of the contractual and legal requirements.
  • You save on detailing, reconditioning, and advertising costs.
  • You may only pay tax on the difference between the value of the new car and the trade-in value.

Disadvantage

  • You may get more money if you sell your car privately.

Getting the Most Value for Your Trade In

There are several things you can do to maximize the value of your trade-in:

  • The appearance of your vehicle is an important consideration when a used-car manager estimates its value.
  • Make any small fixes or repairs (like burnt out lights) that are necessary to make your vehicle as presentable as possible.
  • Make sure your tires are in good shape.
  • Bring a service log and documentation, if you have it.
